Cancellation terms are set by the partner supplier and confirmed in writing before you pay โ a common pattern is a full refund beyond 72 hours, partial refund at 24โ72 hours, and no refund inside 24 hours. If the operator cancels for unsafe weather, you get a full refund or a free reschedule. Always get the policy in your confirmation.
The typical refund tiers
- More than 72 hours out: full refund
- 24โ72 hours out: partial refund
- Inside 24 hours: usually no refund
Your supplier's exact tiers may differ โ which is why the written policy in your confirmation is the one that counts.
Weather is the operator's call โ and their cost
If the captain or the authorities deem conditions unsafe, the operator cancels โ and you're entitled to a full refund or a free reschedule. That's different from you cancelling because the forecast looks grey: guest cancellations follow the normal tiers.
Reschedule before you cancel
Suppliers protect their calendar, not your money specifically โ which means most would rather move your charter than refund it. If your plans shift, ask about new dates first; it's routinely easier than a cancellation. And note that arriving late at the marina eats into your charter time rather than extending it.
If a dispute arises
Your confirmed policy is in your booking confirmation. If a supplier isn't honouring it, open a support request with the confirmation attached and we'll take it up with them. More answers in luxury & experiences help โ or start planning on our yachts page.
