When online ticketing opens on our site, baggage options and prices will be shown per fare before payment, so you can compare the true total cost.
Cheapest to priciest, in order
- Included in the fare — usually the best value; the bag is priced into the ticket.
- Added after booking — still reasonable if done days ahead of departure.
- Paid at the airport — excess-baggage desks charge the highest rates by far.
The pattern is consistent across airlines: the closer to the aircraft door you decide, the more each kilogram costs.
Cabin bags can't grow — checked bags can
Cabin allowances are fixed by the fare and the overhead-locker rules, so you can't usually buy a bigger cabin bag. If you need more capacity, the answer is a checked bag, not a heavier carry-on that gets weighed and rejected at the gate.
