- Guests must meet Lodge staff at the Grant Grove parking lot for a vehicle/guest escort via a single administrative lane plowed from the Y to Montecito.
- Guests must contact the property when they arrive at the parking lot.
- Escort to Montecito is available at 5 PM and from Montecito at 10 AM (times depend on plowing schedule, call 559-565-3388 to confirm escort times).
- During storm conditions, the National Park Service requests that vehicles are not on the roads after escort at 5 PM.
- All vehicles are required to carry chains in their vehicle during the winter season (November-May).
- Highway 180 is the only reliable means of entrance to the property during the snow season.
